We have decided to travel the United States. The truth is you only get one life. Why would you waste it by saving for retirement and hoping you get to travel then? We want to experience life with our children and believe that they will learn more that way. Our new way of life will involve a lot less stuff and a lot more life.

I am a mother of three and enjoy writing about anything that comes up. I am fairly new to writing publically and hope that you will bear with me.

I work in the Human Resources field, but spend most of my time home schooling my daughters. They were in public school until we moved to Chicago about a year ago. I wish that I had started earlier, because they have learned so much more. Children in public schools are only taught what has to be taught to meet state standards, but private home schools can go above and beyond the requirements.

Today we had a great day!  We covered all major subjects by playing "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader."  Anyone that has not played the game, should really try it.  There are so many interesting things to learn, even for adults.  It makes learning fun.  My daughters retain so much information from playing the game.  I am considering adding more questions from other resources to make the game even more challenging.  Perhaps all of the presidents and their birthdates, years they served, or other interesting facts.  Just a thought, but it could work.  Eventually, the game would be called "Are You Smarter Than A Selke Girl."  Okay, maybe that is going a bit too far.
